Eric Crawford 

Eric Crawford, musicologist, specializes in traditional and contemporary forms of African American music. His books include Gullah Spirituals: The Sound of Freedom and Protest in the South Carolina Sea Islands (University of South Carolina Press, 2021) and Gullah Culture in America (Blair Publishing, 2023). In 2021, He appeared in Henry Louis Gates’ miniseries The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song and was music consultant for the Amazon mini series, The Underground Railroad.
